A technique similar to the lost wax process is employed in making these kiln-cast glass figures, originally modelled in clay and involving rubber and refractory investment moulds. Glass powders and frits are sometimes used in a ‘pate de verre’ technique in parts of some pieces, as well as glass stinger inclusions and finally topped up with glass billets before being fired in a kiln, the program lasting several hours if not days and later polished.
